Best Answer

Marc Antony became leader of Rome the first time as Caesar's Master of the Horse while Caesar was away in the east chasing Pompey. He was elected or appointed consul along with Caesar. After Caesar's death he was the remaining consul and was in charge of Rome until the end of his term as consul. He then became a member of the second triumvirate and was a leader of Rome along with Octavian and Lepidus.
