Egypt never fought against Rome. Cleopatra VII fought alongside Marc Antony in the civil war between Marc Antony and Octavian which would decide which one of them would become the sole ruler of Rome. Most of the forces of Marc Antony and Cleopatra were Roman. They were defeated and committed suicide. Octavian became the sole ruler of Rome and also annexed Egypt.
Egypt and Rome were at war in 31 BC. Rome won the famous Battle of Actium which gave Octavian supreme control of the empire.

Pharaohs, the rulers of Ancient Egypt, were very powerful and I don't think it was custom for the people to disagree with them. You would have to go to a Historian or a History book to find out more about the political status of Ancient Egypt. If you're researching life in Ancient Egypt, you may find this site useful... it has lots of info on Ancient Egypt (click on "Ancient Egypt" on the left to go to the home page). http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/pharaoh/home.html
