The Mars 2, Prop-M rover, was sent in 1971 and was the first Mars Rover to be sent. Unfortunately the attempt was unsuccessful.
The first successful Mars rover (and the third successful rover sent into space) was Sojourner. It was launched by NASA on December 4, 1996, and landed July 4, 1997. The most recent, successful, and currently operating Mars rover is the Opportunity (MER-B), Mars Exploration Rover, which landed successfully on January 25, 2004.
So far there have been a total of five Mars Rovers.
The Mars Rover was created in the early 2000's and made its first trip to Mars in 2003. The Mars Rover is just one of NASA's many projects to explore Mars.
First we would have to actually make a successful trip to Mars...
one year round trip
Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars was created in 1950.
Round Trip to Mars was created on 1957-09-23.
While the exact time depends on the engines used to get there, missions to Mars take approximately 4 months to arrive. Mars and Earth are only lined up properly every 25 months to permit an economical trip to Mars.
The duration of Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars is 4.98 hours.
Planning on going to a trip? Take your own oxygen with you, since you can't breath on Mars. 95.32 percent of Mars' atmosphere contains carbon dioxide. Oxygen level is 0.13% on Mars.
The trip to Mars will take about seven months and about 300 million miles (480 million kilometers). During that journey, engineers have several opportunities to adjust the spacecraft's flight path, to make sure its speed and direction are best for arrival at Jezero Crater on Mars
Mars is 206,655,215 km from Earth at its closest (Perihelion). Walking at 3.2kph, the trip would take 7,367 years, 3 months.
Trip to Mars - 1924 was released on: USA: 1 April 1924
There were a number of spacecraft that were sent to Mars including the Mars Odyssey and the Mars Express Orbiter. Most of the spacecraft that were designed to travel to Mars did not make the trip intact?
