My cross-reference list says this is actually a Harrington & Richardson Model 120. Sears Roebuck sold firearms with the J.C. Higgins brand name from the 1940's into the 1960's or later.
H&R only produced the Model 120 during 1941 and 1942.
The Sears J. C. Higgins 583.14 was manufactured by The High Standard manufacturing Corp. in the later 1940's or early 1950's
563 14 is not a 12 gauge it is 16 gauge it was made in 1948 by high standard in good or better condition should bring between 50 and 125 bucks
Up to $125.
The JC Higgins 583.16 is a bolt-action 12ga shotgun made for Sears by High Standard in 1948/1949.
40-60's
2
Retail tops out at $120.
your gun was made by High Standard in 1952 these are very good guns
If it was made before midnight, December 31, 1968, it didn't need one and probably doesn't have one. If it was made later, it should be easily found somewhere on the receiver.
what is a J C Higgins Model 583.9 20 gauge worth
The JC Higgins 12 gauge pump action shotgun, model 20-1264 583.55 is valued at $175 in excellent condition. In fair condition, it is valued at $90.
