When you die is that the end?

Death is the country from which no traveler has returned to give that answer definitively. But many people believe as this answerer wrote: the soul rises, and leaves an empty shell of the body behind.

Many others believe that the soul or the mind reincarnates in a new lifetime following death. Others believe that there is no further life after the body dies. You have to make up your own mind according to what your heart tells you, after listening to the opinions of those who have contemplated this deeply.

People who do not believe in evolution or something and people who know there bibles and belive that there is a god. Both know that our life is like a fire on a candle stick. When you blow the candle out, the fire does not go any where. Its just gone. Our life's are like that. When you die, you just stop existing and soon you will be forgotten. But there is hope. Many people found perfect answers in The Bible. And if you study it and i think the Jehovah's witnesses are doing very good on understanding the bible. But according to the bible which is also like saying according to god. If we follow him and a bunch of other things the bible says. God will remember us and give us life again. And there are lots of promises that the bible say, That could be true. (if it is true, that means all of it is true). But if you believe in evolution there is no hope. We can only wait for science to give us the opportunity to either live longer or forever. But till then we will all die.

Death is something that comes to us all. I read somewhere that our immortality is in two things -- passing on our genes to our children and being remembered by the people we knew and loved. Many of the religious beliefs say that our souls will live on. There are many thoughts about earning heaven, but Lutherans (among others) believe that grace and the love of God will suffice.

According to ancient tradition the world over, the answer is no. Archaeologists, even secular ones, admit that no ancient society has ever been found that did not believe in some form of existence after death. See also:

Yes - more and more people are coming to realise that belief in a life after death may provide comfort for some, but it is a false comfort.
