The Colonists, which became Americans after the war, fought against the British. The British hired many Hessian mercenaries to fight in the colonies. And the Colonists eventually convinced the French to side with them.England
The French fought against the British.
The British called the colonists who fought against them during the American Revolution "rebels" or "patriots".
The colonists fought the British because they declared their independence and the British promptly sent an army to put down the rebellion.
The French colonists treated the Native Americans with A LOT more respect than the other colonists did (including British colonists). The NAs would have rather had no colonization on their land at all, but given the choice to defend the peaceful French territory or fight alongside the British (who wanted to acquire that territory) it was an easy decision for them to make.
The American colonists, the British, the French, and a few American Indians fought in the Revolutionary War.
theres a bunch. the french and Indian war was a big one where the french and Indians teamed up to fight against the british i believe
Well, prior to the American War of Independence the French and British fought a war known as the French-Indian war. The French were being defeated and the British began taxing the colonists. The Colonists rose up against the British and the French seen this as a good time for revenge. The Patriot army was also lacking a navy that could contend with the technologically superior British Navy. The French fought mostly at sea against the British but did fight in some land battles. Spain also helped the Patriots. P.S I'm Scottish (not British)
