Pharaohs typically slept in their palaces. Depending on the Pharaoh and the time period, the Pharaoh would have ruled from Thebes, Memphis, or Alexandria. Additionally, if the Pharaoh was on a military campaign, he would sleep in a royal tent outside of the main encampment. Finally, if the Pharaoh was touring a different part of the Kingdom, he would have a smaller palace built in the region in advance of his arrival so that he would have all of the luxuries to which he was accustomed.
