After they got arrested in August 4, 1944, they were questioned by the Gestapo at the headquarters. Then they went to Westerbork, a transit camp. After that, they went to Auschwitz in Poland, and they stayed there for 2 months. On October 31, 1944, Anne, her sister Margot, and Mrs. van Pels (van Daan) arrived in Bergen-Belsen, a labor camp in Germany. Anne and Margot died of typhus somewhere between Feburary and March.
