Julius Caesar's strengths were his ability to lead and connect with his army and with most of the populace in Rome. Although having better than average abilities in strategies, public speaking, and literary matters, his main strength was his personality. It is said that his personality was magnetic and even that old stuffed toga Cicero liked him personally (although hating him politically). All of Caesar's achievements were possible through his various positions of authority and he attained those positions largely through his personality. To be more specific with regard to Julius Caesar's strength to lead & connect with his legions was the conquest of Gaul. This single military achievement made his popularity among the citizens of Rome and among his legions soar.
The Lower class Viewed Julius Caesar as a hero because he made it easier on them, by lowering the taxes and their slavery work
It was Julius Caesar, but he didn't do it secretly. He openly defied the senate and entered Italy with all the boldness that was part of his personality.
