Elvis never toured outside of the US.
Elvis Presley.
No British coin has ever featured Elvis Presley, or any other Elvis. You possibly have a "fantasy" coin or some sort of souvenir or novelty coin or token which is most likely worth less than you paid for it.
No. Elvis served in the US Army from 1958 until 1960.
Elvis was at the height of his career when he was officially notified that he was drafted into the US Army (note: he received the notification in person while at his home in Memphis Tennessee known as Graceland during December of 1957). Elvis had never been out of the United States other than for a brief period of time when he appeared in Canada. Elvis had a unique relationship with his beloved mother (i.e. Gladys Love {Smith} Presley) and she was very upset when he was drafted and her health deteriorated rapidly. in fact while Elvis was in the US Army she was hospitalized and died on August 16, 1958 at the age of 46. However, Elvis never knew that she was 46 as he always believed that she was 42. Her death made Elvis question everything and he went into a deep depression. He never stopped loving her and her death left a void on Elvis' heart. Elvis decided to go through basic training and be apart of the US Army instead of taking the route of 99% of other entertainers who opted to go on tours and perform live appearances. Elvis did his basic training at Fort Hood Texas where he lost weight and improved his physical strength. He was ultimately stationed in Germany where he was allowed to rent a home and have his Father and Grandmother, along with friends, as the US Army allowed for "persons having dependents" to (a) stay off base and (b) have their dependents with them. During this time Elvis had time to self reflect, and mourn the loss of his mother, as well as plan for his "comeback". Elvis was worried about "if" he would be able to rebuild his career as a; recording artist, performer, and movie actor. During his time in the US Army, in early 1960, he met Priscilla who would become his wife on May 1, 1967. Elvis time in the US Army moulded Elvis, and changed him in immeasurable ways, and the by-product of his serving in the US Army earned him the respect of Americans, and the World, and expanded his fan base well past the teenagers/teeny boppers/etc.
1 in every 3400 Americans is an Elvis impersonator so there are about 92000 Elvis impersonators in the USA.
Create ROCK!!!!
Elvis served with the US Army in Germany. At the time of his service, there was no war in Germany.
Elvis Presleys' IS worthy of admiration on many levels. Elvis grew up dirt poor and worked hard and became the greatest entertainer who ever lived. Elvis gave millions to his loved ones, friends, charities, and total strangers...publicly and privately. Elvis broke barriers of color, music genre, and had respect/friendship (for decades) for people/artists of all races and nationality. Elvis, at the height of his fame, was drafted into the US Army and rejected (as 99.9% of every other celebrity did) being a "military entertainer". Elvis went through all of the trials, training, and tribulations of every other member of the US Army and received an honorable discharge. Elvis supported countless friends, and relatives, over a period of decades. Elvis sacrificed his own health to perform before his fans over a period (which will never be equalled in the number of shows and every show was SOLD OUT) of 8 years from 1969 through 1977. Elvis respected all Religions and was an avid reader of spiritual/religious books. Elvis always acknowledged that God had blessed him and questioned "why" God chose him. Elvis is the most successful Gospel recording artist, and received 3 Grammy Awards, in history. Elvis was a wholly unique person and had his faults. Many of his faults, and shortcomings, were made public during his life and afterward. Elvis was human and thus, and for the reasons listed herein, worthy of admiration. Great question.
Elvis first "comeback" occurred after his stint in the US Army in 1960. Elvis had been drafted into the US Army during the peak of his popularity (note: he received his draft notice in late December 1957).What is widely known as Elvis "comeback" occurred in 1968 with the TV Special, sponsored by the Singer Sewing Machine Company, entitled "Elvis". This TV Special is also known as "Elvis Comeback Special" or "Elvis '68 Special" among other nicknames.Since Elvis had been locked into movie contracts/commitments, beginning in 1960 through 1968, Elvis' singing/live performances had ceased to exist. This 1968 TV Special showcased Elvis raw talents, and he was in excellent physical and vocal shape, and proved once again that Elvis was a magnificent singer and stage presence.
Graceland is in Memphis, Tennessee, on Elvis Presley Boulevard.
