George Washington lived in "The President's House" in Philadelphia (which served as the nation's capital for most of his presidency) while he was in office. The house is now demolished, and there was an excavation perfomed a few years ago. The house stood at the site of what is now the Liberty Bell Center, and you can visit the site and see a drawing of what the house looked like. At the age of 17 he became a land surveyor in Culpeper County, Virginia.
