because John Lennon fells that Peace deserves one more chance
His first single without the Beatles was "Give Peace A Chance", credited to the Plastic Ono Band, in June 1969. His first under his own name was "Instant Karma!" in January 1970; the B-side was "Who Has Seen The Wind?" by Yoko Ono. His first single with a Lennon song on both sides was "Imagine" b/w "It's So Hard", in October 1971.
"All we are saying is give peace a chance." These lyrics are essentially what John Lennon stood for. The words to the song "Give Peace a Chance" express how Lennon felt about peace. In his Beatle days, Lennon was the rowdy one. Always willing to voice his opinion, often to the shock of others, he offended many people. As Lennon grew older, he met his partner Yoko Ono and embarked on a journey of peace that remains legend to this day. They staged "Bed-Ins," where the pair posed for days at a time in a bed campaigning for peace. They used their fame to promote a cause they were passionate about, peace, and the pair campaigned for this together until Lennon's untimely death in 1980. To this day, John Lennon remains a symbol of serenity and love. His words are still very much alive, saying "You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one." These words are very true. He is not the only one. His influence and vision captivated people until his death and continue to persuade people toward peace today. Not only was John Lennon a musician; he was also a figure that remains in society as one of the ultimate peacemakers of our time.
