Unlike English, the Spanish language has an official "Correct Spanish Board." It's known as the Real Academia Española (Royal Spanish Academy), and it's located in Madrid, Spain. The RAE has been the determiner of standard Spanish since King Philip V approved its constitution on October 3, 1714. They determine what the standard form of Spanish is today. Recently, they've been busy keeping up with the new vocabulary generated by the internet, and the changes in technology. There have been 22 editions of the Diccionario de la lengua española

, and a 23rd is in the works.
