on one of the days they slaughter a lamb and eat that or eat some and give the rest to the poor. it is one of their holidays called eid-al adha that they slaughter a lamb and eat it because of God's test to Abraham to slaughter his own son. nor him or his son rejected and they were following God's command. when God saw them do that, he sent Angel Gabriel down to give them a lamb and say, "slaughter that instead. you have passed the test". basically this holiday is to celebrate the obedience of God. The rest of the days they eat whatever they want. it's pretty much normal.

The Islamic pilgrimage does not prescribe any special diet nor does it restrict a pilgrim to any particular food type. IN short a pilgrim can while on pilgrimage eat anything that a non pilgrim Muslim eats. However pilgrims are to abstain from hunting while in the vicinity of the Holy shrines.

They eat as in normal days. They eat all available kinds of food except what is prohibited to eat in Islam by Quran and prophet Muhammad sayings. During the Hajj days they celebrate these feast days. They may eat more meat from their share of the sacrificed meat.
