As on other vehicles the fuel filter is located on the fuel line leading from the fuel tank to the carburetor or in the case of a diesel engine, between the fuel tank and before the injection pump. If the truck is a diesel, there are actually two filters, one for heavy slag and water and another fine mesh filter for small particles. The fuel filter on the diesel truck is located at the panel behind and above the engine, and so is the heavy slag filter right beside it. Remove with a special instrument (filter wrench) and replace with a new filter every 50.000 miles at least. Tighten new filter by turning one and a half turning after the filter begins to show a little resistance to the turning movement. Buy only genuine Toyota filters, no-brand name filters are not as safe.

Junkyard!
try replacing the fuel filter. often debris will clog the output to the motor after driving a few miles as the fuel pump is pumping gas through the filter
It should be on the cylinder head where the top hose attaches.
A bad spark plug will cause a 1982 Datsun King cab pickup not to fire. A clogged fuel filter will also prevent it from firing.
Uder the dash near the steering colmn. It looks like a flasher.
A 1982 firebird did not have a 3.1 V6 it had a 2.8 V6 and the fuel filter is in the carb.
Could be a plugged up fuel filter.
Up out side of the tank
Is your car fuel injected or carb? Either way this job is a pain in the @ss. The fule filter is located on the passenger side of the engine. It isabout 6 to 8 inches down from the valve cover. It is mounted on the block and in a bad spot in my personal opinion. It is located closer to the firewall on the passengers side of the engine.
It's inline at the carburetor.
