The block heater is installed under the exaust manifold. It does not go INTO the coolant. It's a "clamp on" style heater. It heats the coolant by heating the block where there is a coolant passage.
To install it, you'll need to remove the head shield from the exaust manifold (3 screws). The heater is secured using 1 bolt.
transition metal or d-block element
When looking at the engine from the front it is at the top left, just above the air box. the cord should be around there or if it has been rerouted since new, the block heater is just above the exhaust manifold near the front of the engine (can be seen if u look at the back of the engine from the passenger side of the car) the cord should be sticking out like a sore thumb, just follow it back.
the element belongs to 4th period, 9th group, it is a d block element. the element is cobalt
Cobalt (I) chloride = Cobalt monochloride = CoCl Cobalt (II) chloride = Cobalt dichloride = CoCl2 Cobalt (III) chloride = Cobalt trichloride = CoCl3
Cobalt is generally bivalent or trivalent. So either Cobalt (II) or Cobalt (III).
