Most likely it will be in the fuse box in the engine bay. I have a 1999 Kia Carnival (Carnival and Sedona are the same vehicle).
Note however the connector is NOT a 'standard' scanner connector (a J1962 connector).
Rather it is a KIA-unique connector sometimes called a "73". It can have 20 connections (sockets) but most likely your vehicle will have far fewer (depends upon features present).
Position "K" of the KIA socket is the communications line. It is the "K" line of ISO 9141-2 (or perhaps ISO 14230-4) communications.
Note that you may find a generic scanner will not be able to read the KIA codes even if you get the connections correct. I am currently trying to figure it all out. It is likely KIA deviate from the standards somewhat (as apparently many manufacturers do). I can get my Carnival(Sedona) to respond to my scanner, but so far the responses don't tally with expectations.

I'm not sure about a 2000 model. but I just put a 2.8 liter turbo diesel in my 1989 amigo with very little fabrication. Alll I had to do was reroute a few hoses and build an exhaust system. The Isuzu turbo diesl 3.1 liter out of the Isuzu bighorn is most likely to fit in a 2000 model. I know people have done it before.
