they're generally on the transmission where the cable from the shifter attaches to the lever on the side of the transmission that changes the 'gear' of the transmission (auto trans).
manual transmissions usually have a switch on the clutch pedal (since you didnt specify which transmission type)
on the tranny
The safety neutral switch on a 1989 Nissan Pickup with an automatic transmission and a D-24 engine is located on the transaxle. The neutral switch will be found where the linkage attaches to the transaxle unit.
On top of the transmission where the shift cable is.
It is combined with the neutral safety switch and mounts to the transmission where the shifter linkage is attached.
the one on the tranny is on the left side of the transmission, looks almost like a seashell
No, it does not have one.
Probably starter solenoid switch
No such thing never was
NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH, AUTOZONE CAN SHOW U ON THEIR COMPUTER THE LOCATION OF IT
No. A Jeep Wrangler does not have an inertia switch.
on the top of the steering column, close to the floor is the neutral safety switch. it is a plastic (usually white) piece with wires plugged into it. a screwdriver will remove two screws one on eash side. If your engine starts only in park or neutral then the neutral safety switch is ok. if your engine starts in any other gear then it needs to be replaced. hope this helps. EXCUSE ME FOR BUDDING IN BUT YOUR ARE WRONG. THE NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH IS LOCATED AT THE TRANSMISSION CASE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AS IT IS ON ALL FORD PRODUCTS WITH THE AOD STYLE TRANSMISSION WHICH IS THE ONLY TRANSMISSION THE THIS CAR CAME WITH THRU 1992 DAVE FROM LEE MYLES TRANSMISSIONS ROSLYN HEIGHTS NY 516-484-0010
