You'll find the starter motor for your Toyota Lucida mounted behind the engine oil filler which is accessed by pulling up the yellow seat release and tipping the passenger seat back to reveal the service access panel that lies below a removable section of carpet.
A point to note is that access to the starter motor is very tight and can take some time to remove if the fixing bolts are tight. The good news is that you only need a 14 mm, a 12 mm spanner and a cross head screw driver to remove it.

Some vehicles require the motor mount (on the side the starter is on) to be loosened or even removed in order to jack up the motor to remove and replace the starter.
First check your oil gauge. if it is in correct gauge of oil try to over size your radiator. toyota lucida was design for the strret of japan so for a humid country you need to oversize your radiator.

Take out the starter take take off the back lid and you will see the two clips inside that rub against the motor kind of like motor brushes. if they are worn replace them and you will have a new starter. you will hear a clicking noise when they are bad and you will not get your starter to start.
