The synchros are going out on the tranny
The 2001 Rodeo has a sealed transmission. The only way to change it is to pump out the old fluid and refill it via the route. This is not for the weekend mechanic and I suggest that you have a dealer do it.

labor cost for an new oil pump an a Isuzu rodeo 2001
No.... thanks to GM engineering, they decided to make this a sealed transmission and you can't just change the filter and oil. Somebody would need to crack open the transmission to do some internal work on it before you would need or be able to change out the oil and filter.
how do you adjust head ligths up or down on a 2001 Isuzu rodeo
In 2001 rodeo, it has the 4l30-e transmission which is made by GM. You have two possible problem. One your clutches are getting bad or two you are leaking transmission fluid. If you are leaking transmission fluid, you will have to pump the fluid back into the transmission. The most like spot for the leak is in the accumulator area.
