Which pad is better

I have mostly tried the brand names. I like the overnightpads for heavy periods by Always Infinity and by Kotex (the multi-colored packages). It really depends on you and your circumstances.

It depends on person preference and personal requirements.

Commercial pads such as Always or Kotex are not the best option as they're made from synthetics that prevent air-flow and stop blood from drying so will make your genitals warm/moist perfect for bacteria and yeast to thrive. Commercial pads are also heavily chemically treated which can cause bad odour, irritation, increase risk of vaginal infections, and there are concerns over long-term risks.

Organic pads such as Emerita or Natracare are just like commercial pads but made from cotton and breathable plastic backing so a little more breathable than commercial pads, thus a little more hygienic. Organic pads are also not chemically treated like commercial pads so less likely to cause bad odour, irritation (they're hypo-allergenic), vaginal infections, and no long-term risks.

Cloth pads such as Lunapads or Gladrags are the most hygienic and comfortable as they're made from cloth so just like wearing your underwear, there is breathability so they keep you much drier and cooler to prevent bacterial growth or yeast growth - these also feel more comfortable, don't rub on skin, and don't come unstuck or gather-up like disposables. No chemical treatments either.

Cloth pads are the most comfortable and hygienic, there are also advantages in that they come in a wider range of sizes and styles - e.g. all-in-one pads or insert style which allow you to add extra layers if needed and you change the liners instead of the whole pad - also come in a lot of different colors and designs, for example if you were a Hello Kitty fan you could have a Hello Kitty design on your pads.
