Best Answer

Earth has the highest density, which is equal to 5.5153 g/cm3

However, if you remove gravitational compression the materials of which Mercury is made would be denser, with an uncompressed density of 5.3 g/cm3 versus Earth's 4.4 g/cm3

Define "high".

The terrestrial planets have considerably higher average densities than the "gas giants". In our Solar System, anyway ... it just so happens that Jupiter is about as large (in terms of volume) as it's possible for a planet to get. When you add more mass to a Jupiter-sized planet, you don't get a larger planet, you get a denser one. A planet with a mass 8x that of Jupiter would be denser than Earth, the densest planet in the Solar System.

Does a gas planet have density?

Certainly - all matter has density. The density of a gas planet would probably be less than that of a more solid planet but it would still have a non-zero density.

How can the density of our planets be explained with mathematical formulae?

The density of a planet depends basically on the density of the materials that make the planet up. It is a weighted average of those densities.
