You'll need to be a little more specific in your question. All the planets were out there just orbiting the Sun pretty much as it has been doing for the past 4 billion years or so, and I'm not aware of anything extraordinary that happened on May 5, 2002.
Five planets, were visible with the naked eye. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter.
Also, Mars, Venus and Saturn formed a near perfect triangle in the night sky [See Link].
--- Additional information ----
Four of them (Venus, Saturn, Mars, and Mercury) formed an eye-catching knot during the first week of May. On May 10th and 11th, Venus and Mars drew so close together that they resembled a bright double star. Venus, Saturn and Mars were closely grouped together in the sky that evening. Mars, Venus and Saturn.
On May 5, 2002, an unusual grouping of the three planets Mars, Saturn and Venus occurred. Those three planets formed a tight triangle in the constellation Taurus, easily viewed in the western sky just after sunset.
Some planets may potentially be destroyed by collisions with their stars or with other planets, but they cannot just disappear.
Planets.
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and you may consider Pluto as a planet too. This is in order from the sun out, but skipping the inner planets
To start, hopefully my solar system is the same as yours. There is no definite answer depending on how perfectly aligned you are asking. There was an alignment of sorts with 5 planets and the moon May 5th, 2000. The next one of those will happen in 2040. Including all the planets and a near perfect to perfect alignment, it's in the millions of years to trillions of years. For better information check out below:

May 5, 2002 fell on a Sunday.
"The 5 planets" in the question is wrong. There are 8 known planets, not 5, in our Solar System. The question may mean "5th planet" (from the Sun). Jupiter is the 5th planet.

We can never know how many planets there are in the entire universe.

The best answer to the question as stated is "no".Until recently, in the only planetary system we had any knowledge the inner planets as rocky, and that led to the conjecture that proximity to the central star would drive away most of the gas and prevent gas giants from forming there. We now know that "hot Jupiters" are surprisingly common, and it may just be a coincidence that, in the Solar system, the inner planets happen to be rocky. However, while the inner planets in the Solar system are rocky, they are not "large"; the largest of the inner planets is 5th in a system of 8 ... and it's not a close 5th, either. The smallest of the outer planets is many times larger than the largest of the inner planets.
7 major planets with about 3 dwarf planets.
No. Stars are like suns, around which planets may orbit.
