It all depends on your style and taste. If you like to play funk/pop/rock, I would suggest a Fender guitar. If your going for a sound that that has more 'meat' to it then I would choose a Gibson guitar, or anything that has humbucking pickups. And If you want to play Heavy metal I suggest going for a fast Ibenez or a Dean. (if you like metal I suggest the BC rich Kerry king take for roughly £300-400 because it looks amazing and just plays like no other)
12-52 if you want to play it acoustically too, 13-56 is my pick for it as its a metal tuning so might as well get metal strings. Kerry King uses 9-46s though for his C# tuning though, I was shocked.
You can play Rock band with a guitar hero guitar, but you can't play Guitar Hero with a Rock Band guitar.
Jason dunn can not play the eltric guitar but he can play a acustic and a guitar hero guitar
Albert King (before he died) played a Gibson Flying V guitar. It was actually a right handed guitar, but he strung it left-handed to suit his needs.
