John Collot Horsley was an English artist. He was the designer and illustrator of the first Christmas card in 1843.
The first commercial Christmas card is believed to have been designed and printed in London, England in 1843. The cards were used to encourage people to use the new British postal system. John Horsley designed the card after the Dickens story.
