Paul Tibbets flew the Enola Gay and dropped the atomic bomb upon the Japanese city of Hiroshima whereas pilot Charles Sweeney flew Bockscar and bombed Nagasaki with a nuclear weapon .
The plane Enola Gay' - was named after Enola Gay Tibbets- the mother of the pilot Colonel Paul Tibbets, who flew the mission to drop the first atomic bombs on Hiroshima & Nagasaki.
The Enola Gay flew from the Island Of Tinian and returned to that island. The second atom bomb was sent from that Island too. See related link below.
I don't know if the first plane can be identified. John Dolittle's raid consisted of B-25B's that took off from carriers and dropped bombs on 18 April 1942 over numerous cities in Japan, before landing in China. Only two of the planes had names, The Ruptured Duck and The Bat.
On August 6, 1945, a lone B-29 bomber called the Enola Gay flew towards Hiroshima, an important industrial and military center in southwestern Japan. Reaching its target, the Enola Gay released a single atomic weapon it carried. The bomb detonated 2,000 feet above the city, flattening 42 square miles and killing at least 80,000 people outright. Thousands of others soon died from the radiation released by the bomb.
Three other attacks on the United States proper were made by Japan after Pearl Harbor. One was the Aleutian Island campaign, the second was a West Coast submarine attack which can at best be called harrasing fire and finally the balloon attacks which failed to ignite the forests of the western US.

The name of the pilot who flew the first plane to drop an atomic bomb is Colonel Paul Tibbets. He was the pilot of the Enola Gay, the B-29 bomber that dropped the first atomic bomb.
The bombers that dropped both atomic bombs flew from the island of Tinian. This was also the base for bombers that flew many of the "thousand plane" firebombing attacks every night (each of which did similar damage to the atomic bombs).
Colonel Paul Tibbets.
"Little Boy" was the codename of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 by the Boeing B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay, piloted by Colonel Paul Tibbets of the 393d Bombardment Squadron, Heavy, of the United States Army Air Forces.
The plane that dropped the bomb on Nagasaki flew from an island in the Pacific, not from the continental United States.
There were two such missions over Japan. The first was commanded by Colonel Paul Tibbets, who flew the B-29 bomber, Enola Gay, and dropped the atomic bomb, "Little Boy," on Hiroshima. The second mission was commanded by Major Charles Sweeney, who flew the B-29 bomber, Bockscar, and dropped the atomic bomb, "Fat Man," on Nagasaki.
