This question is a question which has been asked many times since the expression "that's what she said" first became popular.. For those of you who think you know who this "s…he" character is, you, my dear, are completely, and utterly wrong. Lo siento.. The answer to this question is quite obvious...the woman who is referred to a million times a day, is none other than.... a man.... funny how that works out...
That's what she said is a funny double entendre often used by Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) on NBC's comedy The Office. It is a joke added onto everyday conversation to give i…t a sexual meaning. For example: Person 1: "Is it long enough?" (speaking of something non-sexual) Person 2: "That's what she said!" It is unknown who exactly coined the phrase. Many believe the first appearance of this joke in pop culture occurred in the 1992 movie Wayne's World. While holding a Claudia Schiffer poster, Garth and Wayne say: Garth : Hey, are you done yet? I'm getting tired of holding it. Wayne : Yeah, that's what she said.

"thats what she said" did originate from t he office "That's what she said" was not original to the office, it stems back to Wayne's world when Garth was holding a pic of Cl…audia Schiffer, and said "I'm getting tired of holding this" ... and Wayne says "that's what she said." I've heard there is an earlier mention from Sat Nite Live by Chevy chase in 1975, but I haven't been able to locate it yet... Sorry to disappoint all you office fan's, but it did not originate with the office.
