Guardian is a hero in Marvel comics. James MacDonald Hudson stole the prototype battlesuit he was developing when he discovered that his employers, Am-Can-Petro-Chemical, intended to turn it over to the US Military. Hudson took the suit to the Canadian government and founded Alpha Flight which he led as Vindicator. When Canada ended its support if Alpha Flight , Hudson took the name Guardian to symbolize his new role. Later, the Collective possessed Michael Pointer and used him to kill Hudson, along with most of the rest of Alpha Flight. Pointer recently became the new Guardian of Omega Flight, wearing Hudson's battlesuit to help control his energy absorption powers.
