Satan names: Satan, Lucifer, Father of Lies, deceiver, devil, the wicked one, abaddon, adversary, angel of light, thief, tempter, star, ruler of this world,

Satan according to the Bible was an angel [Lucifer]. He was the most beautiful angel that God created. He was an angel who wanted to take over heaven. God knew of his plan and cast him and his followers to the earth.

When God made, man and women, Adam and Eve; the serpent spoke in the Garden, Satan entered the serpent and Satan spoke to Eve tricking her to eat from the only tree that God did not want Adam and Eve to eat from. Because once they ate from this tree, they would know good and evil. Satan's deceptiveness worked and Eve ate from the tree and convinced Adam to eat also. God cursed the serpent for the sake of Satan. In this curse, God cursed Satan also using symbolic language.

He was the brother of Jesus

He was sent here by God to test humans

He and his angels populated the earth in the beginning until their children were destroyed in the flood.

He is the idea of Evil but does not actually exist in a form.

Satan is not all knowing or all seeing- God is the only being who is omniscient, Omnipresent.

Satan is not behind every bad thing that happens to someone. - If you lose your job because you were late, it might not have been Satan's fault. If you trip over something and bust your head open because you were not watching where you were going, again not Satan's fault. If you are, fasting, praying, and your car will not start, maybe. If you are preaching to someone and you are shot, good chance Satan has some work in it. If the world is led by a dictator convincing everyone to kill all Christians- YEP that would be Satan.

Does Satan rule this world- YES, until of the time he is cast out into his fiery pit. He has dominion over this world, but this dominion was given by God and God has the final judgment and decision. Satan is still subject to God. (John 12:31)

Satan cannot be more than one place at one time. - He is not omnipresent He can move across the earth at lightning speeds. He also has many demons and spirits to do his bidding at any time.

Satan does not torture whoever he wants, whenever he wants. - The Bible talks about Satan still having to come in front of God and ask for permission to torture Job.

Satan does not love those who worship him or follow him.- Satan hates man and is jealous of man wanting man to be destroyed with him.

Satan does not live in your music- It is possible to undergo demonic attacks because of music as well as music that is not pleasing to God is pleasing to Satan for one reason. See question above for that reason.

Burning books will not hurt Satan or his cause- In fact, it will probably help his cause because the human mind will see this as a random act of insanity, leading people away from God. HINT~ if Hitler did it, the church might want to avoid replicating the behavior.

Satan is Not whoever has the name with letters adding up to six for each name- 666 the number of the beast, was most likely not talking about the number of letters in a name because if so which language of the name? It is most likely not a telephone or social security number either.

Satan made me do it- Satan or his angels in extreme circumstances have been known to take over someone, although you are here of your own free will and you have ability to control your own actions. On the other hand, Satan can torture you with spirits, demons, and or [if you happen to be a major threat] himself. Thus, if you allow him in your life with your actions and welcome him and his spirits, you can be possessed or controlled through suggestion. Someone with Christ in their life cannot be possessed although they can be oppressed. They cannot be possessed because "greater is he who is in me than he who is in the world" this refers to Christ and the spirit being in you and good and evil cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Now a Christian can be oppressed meaning tortured, suggested to, or even attacked by Satan or his angels.

Do I need to fear Satan? Is He powerful? - No and Yes. "God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of Power, love, and a sound mind". Does the army of 5 million with machine guns need to fear the army of 500 with swords? They should respect their power and acknowledge the threat they can pose against them. Know your enemy. Satan is a defeated foe but he is a worthy adversary. A Christian has no reason to fear Satan but instead to be aware of him and his tricks. Someone without Christ needs read the above question. Satan is not omnipotent but he is a supernatural being with super natural abilities, and knowledge from being around for a long time.

What is the fate of Satan? Satan has a place called hell that burns forever where he will be placed when his time is out. God allotted Satan this time because God is full of grace and mercy. It is believed that God uses Satan to show people they have a choice, they can choose God out of their own free will, not because they are forced to serve him. People can also go to hell because people, much like Satan, are creations that ultimately cannot die. Satan is a spirit and cannot die and man has a soul that also cannot die.

So finally...

WHO IS SATAN- The enemy of humans convincing humans there is no god and that god is not worthy to be worshiped or praised.

There is very little mention of Satan in the Bible, other than the Book of Job. In Job, Satan is depicted as the loyal servant of God, whose role is to test the righteousness of his people. Judaism continues to see Satan as a servant of God, not as an adversary.

The name Lucifer, which really means the morning star, is often associated with Satan in Christian thought. Lucifer is mentioned in Isaiah 14:4-22, where the name actually refers to the king of Babylon. This passage was misunderstood by Christian translators, resulting in the widespread Christian view that Lucifer and Satan are one.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Satan is mentioned throughout the bible, quite frequently, and has several names, including Serpent Genesis 3:14-15, the Father of Lies: John 8:44, The Devil: Matthew 4:1, The prince of this world: John 14:30

Example: Serpent

Genesis 3:14. Cursed are you above all livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.

Note: The serpent, Satan, is not being called ONE of the livestock or ONE of the wild animals, but cursed above them.

Satan will take and associate himself with this "identity" right in Job when asked from where he came.

Job 1:7 The Lord said to Satan. "Where have you come from?" Satan ed the Lord. From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it"

Genesis 3:15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.

For Clarification -

Genesis 3:15 states that Messiah will crush the head of the serpent, that is, Satan (Revelation 12:9, 15, 20:2) In the process Satan will manage to wound the heel of the Messiah, but will be unable to prevent his own destruction. The brusing of the Messiah's heel took place at Jesus' crucifixion - painful but, in the eternal sense, not fatal. The crushing of the serpent's head began with Jesus' death and resurrection, a point made in Hebrews 2:14-18. Romans 16:20 sees the crushing of Satan's head as still future and, so, his final destruction will not come until he is thrown into the lake of fire, as described in Rev 20:10

Other references to Satan in the Bible:

Job 1:6

Zec 3:2

Mark 4:15

2 Corinthians 11:14, 12:7

Revelation 12:9, 20:2, 20:7

And of course the one most well known, the temptation of Jesus. Matthew 4:1-11.

Matthew 4:10 (Jesus Speaking) Away from me SATAN! For it is written: "Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."

John 13:27 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. "What you are about to do, do quickly," Jesus told him.

Case in point. Obviously Satan is not only mentioned in the book of Job as you stated above.

While I certainly believe that God uses both the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures to teach believers, I still maintain that God will sometimes use other means for believers to learn spiritual lessons. The main difference would be that the teaching is done more on the basis of God's permissive will than His directive will. Obviously, God permitted the messenger of Satan to cause a thorn in Paul's flesh. Paul prayed three times for it to be removed, but God said "no" in order that Paul would learn that His grace was sufficient. There is no question that the learning of this lesson was based upon Paul receiving a negative to his request to have the thorn removed. This would not have been possible outside of God's permissive will.

The same is true concerning Job. Certainly, it was Satan who caused Job's afflictions. But, again, it would not have been possible if not for God's permissive will. In the same way, regarding David, the Scriptures tell us that it was God who moved him to number the people, while elsewhere the Word says that it was Satan. Do we have a contradiction? Absolutely not, as the Bible is the inspired Word of God: It was Satan who directly caused David to number the people, and it was allowed by God's permissive will. Both statements, then, are true, but one is directive and the other permissive. The recipients of Satan's activities and God's permissive will were to learn certain lessons. This they did and still do today, as God uses Satan and demons to teach believers.

Satan is not an evil beast, he is a beautiful man. He is also know as Enki, which means Lord of the Earth, not to scary sounding is it?

A comparative answer:

According to the Bible, the angel who became known as Satan the devil , once served God in the heavens. In time, he started to desire worship for himself and chose to rebel against God. (Ezekiel 28:13-15 The King of Tyre is likened to Satan)(Genesis 3:1-6) He introduced man to sin and death, and is now God's enemy and one of the reasons Jesus came to earth.(1 John 3:8) " He who carries on sin originates with the Devil, because the Devil has been sinning from [the] beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was made manifest, namely, to break up the works of the Devil."

Satan lied to Eve, claiming that mankind did not need God's guidance, and claiming that they would never die. (John 8:44)(1 John 5:19) Eve believed him, Adam selfishly followed his lead, and brought death to humanity.(Romans 5:12) The devil can 'appear' to be beautiful, infact the Bible says: (2 Corinthians 11:14-15)" . . .Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness. But their end shall be according to their works."

His name is never mentioned in the Bible, just the titles he's earned:

Satan(which means opposer) devil (which means slanderer).

Another viewpoint:

No, no, no, no, no! Here is the truth about Satan, who's name is Satan Lucifer.

The one known as Satan created us and designed us. He intended to bring us knowledge and make us as the Gods, but he was prevented from doing so and cursed by some of the other Gods. We did not evolve naturally, as opposed to animals who have overall better health and immunity. Satan wished to bring us to perfection, but some of the other Gods wanted for us to be destroyed after the mission was over and since we were becoming an issue, they attempted to let us all drown in the flood.Fools claim Satan is an "xian invention." All of the Old Gods were made into Devils and Demons in order to destroy their relations with humans. These are the Gods who have been present throughout the life of the human race and have attempted to give us knowledge and to help us in our times of need. Cities were destroyed, libraries and other places where books were kept were burnt and destroyed. Every culture, such as the Philistines, that worshiped other Gods was made war upon and genocide ensued. The Philistines worshiped Beelzebub. he was the God of the Philistine city of Ekron and Zebulon. (Baal [Lord] Zebulon). There are few if any traces of the truth concerning these Gods.

== == The devil has one general goal for you, your family and friends -- "to devour": Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Pet 5:8) The preventatives cited are clear and twofold: (1) We must be self-controlled. (2) We must be alert to his clever schemes. Do NOT give the devil an opportunity to tempt you or lead you away from God: And do not give the devil a foothold. (Eph 4:27) Satan tempted the Lord Jesus by quoting Scripture which mentioned angels: "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: " 'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.' " (Mat 4:6) The devil can quote Scripture! This is a disturbing but important truth to know about our chief, spiritual adversary! To make matters even worse, false teachers can do the same! Therefore, we must make sure Scripture is not used out of context. To do this we must consider the verses before and after the verse in question. Also, when trying to arrive at the proper interpretation of Scripture, we must consider all verses on any given subject. Satan can transform himself into looking like an angel from God: And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. (2 Cor 11:14) This shows that the devil can disguise his appearance to appear as an angel of God. This explains alleged visions in Mormonism, Catholicism and Seven-Day Adventism. The crux of the message found in these visions contradict the other visions found in these other groups! In other words, the visions in Mormonism contradict visions in Catholicism which also contradict the visions in Seven-Day Adventism. Since God does not change (Mal. 3:6; Jam. 1:17), it is impossible for the source of these visions to be God, especially since they have an unscriptural message! If even an angel from heaven would declare a salvation message different from that found in Scripture, that angel is not only wrong but accursed for doing so: But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! (Gal 1:8) Dear reader, don't believe any plan of salvation that varies from the message found in Scripture, even if an angel named Moroni allegedly came to a person named Joseph Smith, Jr. or a personage claiming to be Mary appeared and declares that she is "the way" to God, as occurred at Fatima, Portugal. Scripture clearly declares Jesus is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). Since Jesus is Mary can't be. Satan's Final End Is Everlasting Torment: And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Rev 20:10) Eternal fire beyond the grave was prepared for "the devil and his angels": Then he will say to those on his left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. (Mat 25:41) The same fire that will claim the devil and his angels will also torment people who die in a spiritually lost condition. Dear reader, do not be deceived: There is no reincarnation! The ultimate authority on all spiritual matters, Lord Jesus, taught a judgment and an afterlife in either the kingdom of heaven or eternal fire, but not reincarnation. Also, there is no Purgatory or annihilation of the wicked, according to Jesus. He taught there are only two roads, two gates, two destinies and two groups of people. Because there are false teachers, deceitful spirits, visions and dreams from the devil, miracles performed by demons, etc. we are advised to do the following: Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)Test everything. Hold on to the good. (1 Th 5:21) Our standard is the Word of God, which is used for testing all teachings (2 Tim. 3:16,17). It is in the Bible alone that we can be made "wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus" (2 Tim. 3:15).

Saturn is a God in the Greco-Roman Pantheon. The Bible holds the sacred writings of the Hebrews (and later of the Christians). The Bible does not acknowledge the reality of the Roman gods. So no one in the Bible would be described as being tempted by Saturn.

Satan entered post-Exilic Judaism as the 'adversary' but under the instructions of God, as we see in the Book of Job. In Christianity, Satan evolved to become the evil opponent of God, seeking to cause the faithful to deviate from righteousness and to destroy God's kingdom. Satan continued to evolve throughout much of the Middle Ages, at time as a figure of fun and sometimes with changes in how he exerts his wicked powers.
