Who is Squall Leonhart?

Squall is the main protagonist in Final Fantasy VIII. His weapon is the gunblade which is the first interactive battle weapon in the Final Fantasy series.

He journeys with Quistis,Rinoa,Zell,Selphie, and Irvine to conquer an evil sorceress who is trying to compress time. He is initially a stoic but gradually becomes friendly. He is portrayed as an apathetic and rather cold introvert. The theme of the game (being love and the succession of witches) is shown through him. He often has thought sequences in which the player can see, giving the player a sense of omniscience. It is often implied that Laguna Loire is his father but it is never truly stated. He is dragged into a leading position that he reluctantly accepts. Well, he pretty much had to really.

His scar was made from a training session between him and Seifer.

its also said that raine (the woman who married laguna) was his mother. again this has never been fully stated.also wikianswers says that kiros and ward indicate that squall is laguna's son while on the Ragnorak (if the spellings wrong, sorry). there complete opposites so im confused.

squall met rinoa first at the Balamb Garden party then again at the Forest Owls' base (the train). Squall is contracted to her to liberate Timber from Galbadia. (this bit is for the person that wanted to know where squall met rinoa. of course if u played the game u shud no this!)
