∙ 12y agoKay Rala Xanana Gusmão is the Prime Minister of East Timor. Gusmão became the 4th Prime Minister of East Timor on 2007 August 8.
After Indonesia invaded East Timor in 1975, Gusmão became a rebel leader. He was eventually captured and sentenced by Indonesia in 1992, but gained freedom 7 years later. After East Timor's independence, he became its first president, serving from 2002 May 20 to 2007 May 20. He became the Prime Minister of East Timor 3 months after his presidency.
