Form AU-11 is Application for Credit or Refund of Sales or Use Tax. An organization that's exempt from sales tax might file Form AU-11. A business might file Form AU-11 because a customer gave them an exemption certificate after the business already had submitted the tax to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. A contractor who paid on the purchase of certain tangible personal property might file Form AU-11.
