Isaiah was a prophet in Judah (and the son of Amoz) during the time of Kings Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah of Judah (Isaiah 1:1) and Kings Pekah and Hoshea in Israel. He prophesied during a rebellious time in history, and told of the Babylonian captivity of Israel, the restoration of Jerusalem, and then God's judgment on Babylon (Isaiah 45:1, 2; chapters 13, 14, 46-48.)
