This is one of the folklore tales often put up by theists to show the power of their religion. It usually goes like this:
There was an atheist (professor, student, teenager, industrialist) who was (speaking, appearing, overheard in at a party) who (laughed at, challenged, disrespected) The Bible. At that time a (young child, senior citizen, stranger who no one had noticed before) spoke up challenging the atheist. The atheist failed to prove his point, saw the error of his ways and was born again in the Lord.
None of these events has stood up to an impartial investigation.
Several weak atheists may have experienced this, but it is not likely to happen.
The new testament of the bible in Christianity is not relevant, for it has been corrupted and changed in so many ways; it just now has many contradictions.
THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUE AND PURE. Some people say that they have found contradictions in the Bible, but that is only from their own lack of belief...refer to Link that answers so called contradictions.
Yes, there are many contradictions in the bible. Why not read it and take notes.
The Bible is to Christianity as the Qur'an (Koran) is to Islam.
You could belong to pretty much any religion other than Christianity or you may be an atheist. Being an atheist does not simply mean you do not believe in the God of the bible; it means you do not believe in any god or gods.
Christianity is to Bible as Islam to Quran.
Yes. In his earlier years, Art was an Atheist, but later converted to Christianity. Art says that although he is a Christian, he is by no means a 'Bible-thumper', as he is respectful of others beliefs and convictions.
The Holy Bible.
One reason might be that Paine had published a work in 1794 called "Age of Reason" in which he criticized the Bible and Christianity, dismissing both as false and calling Christianity fundamentally immoral. In reality, Paine was neither little (he stood 5' 10"), nor was he an atheist. He was a deist, believing that God created nature and that was the end of God's contribution.
um... everywhere. and i haven't even read the bible... i'm an atheist
The basic beliefs of Christianity are all based on the Holy Bible. Some branches have changed things or added to the Bible, but orthodox Christianity holds the Bible as the only basis and the only truth in Christianity.
An atheist is someone who doesn't believe in god or the bible
