Sorry I don't have the exact answer, but I don't think he was previously introduced in the film, and I was too tired to rewind or watch again. I believe he was meant to be completely anonymous, except for the way the first girl (the stripper) was killed. They found bruises of hot coins all over her body that I assume the killer made. He must have seen the boys in her grade throwing the hot coins at her, which led me to believe he was a school faculty member. I think it was one of many loose ends in the movie.
