Theres a few factors:Over reliance on one crop the potatoe and more so again only 1 variety of potatoe. That's why the potatoe blight spread so quickly.British rule meant that farmers etc had to pay large rents to british landlords, so the food they did have went straight to englandBritish rule during the famine and little british aid didnt help either

A potato famine is when potatoes start to die off then eventually vanish and they don't grow. It is something to do with a disease in the soil that is killing the potatoes

Its not that they blamed them for the famine as nothing couldve prevented it. They were angry as the british who had come into Ireland and taken over governments and things gave them no help what so ever. Englush Landlords evicted tenants and some crops such as grain were being shipped from Ireland to England where food was plentiful;

All the people living in Ireland (which includes present-day Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland) from the early 1840s through 1852.

The subject of the causes of the Irish Potato Famine and the English laws that negatively affected the people of Ireland at that time is a complex one and cannot thoroughly be explained in this question and answer forum.

Instead, visit your local public library and do the research with the help of a reference librarian. To start, one of the multi-volume sets of encyclopedias the library holds will have good information for you.
