Try turning it around. If it's not pumping there is a good chance that it is installed backwards. If that's not the case then check to make sure that your fuel pump is working properly.
Typically the term "pumping station" is what is used. When referring to the individual pieces in the pumping station, these would be called pump sets, and each area containing pump sets, within the pumping station, could be called a pump station.

If the engine is warmed up, the thermostat has opened and coolant is circulating, the pump is pumping.
The seal that was installed next to the pump was ripped, whish is easy to do. Either there is nothing at all, or there will be all the same gears.
even though it sounds like it is pumping it may not be, try a new pump and new fuel filter

The stroke length in the pumping unit refers to structural capacity of a given pump.
If you're getting power to the pump this proves the fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay are good. That leaves only two possibilities. Either the pump is running but it's not pumping fuel. Or possibly the fuel filter is clogged.
