I also own a Nissan Pulsar Q hatchback with the same problem.
One reverse light is orange, the other is white. The dealership when attempting to fix this problem assumed I had two white reverse lights so my car short circuited. I have been told for the orange light to work I have to turn on the headlights, (sounds a bit dodgy)
Not sure if it makes sense, but I hope it helps.
check for blown fuses
Bad bulbs can be the cause of your reverse lights not working on your 1999 Toyota Tacoma. A problem with the reverse switch or bad wires can also be the cause of your reverse lights not working.
When the dash lights dim on the Nissan Pulsar SS 99 with the use of the turn signal, it is usually an indication of a bulb burned out in the turn signals. It can also mean that the flasher is bad and taking too much juice.
Try bypassing the reverse light switch that plugs into the transmission. If your reverse lights come on, voila! Problem solved. Buy a new switch.
Phone a Nissan dealer they will give you the code after you give the ID of the car.
first check fuses, then bulbs, then reverse switch on trans mission,it might need replacing, its screw into your transmission.
switch on the transmission which sends a signal to the reverse lights when shift is in reverse......... is shot. You need a mechanic.
the brake light driver side not working
check reverse light switch on transmission.
have you checked the bulbs and fuses
