Why are there good people and bad people?

Answer: There is good people and bad people because some people have sick minds and some do not.

Real Answer: If there is no bad, how can we define good?

Another Answer: There are good people and bad people because people are humans. Humans come equipped with instincts and experiences, and make decisions for their own behavior for their own reasons. Since very few newborns come into the world intent on bad behavior, their early learning contributes to their future behavior. The ability to make good or bad decisions is based on a person's experiences and belief systems acquired throughout their life. There are too many variables in each individual's experience to give a simple, definitive answer to the question. I think this is what the first answer was trying to say.

Or, the smart alek answer is it's because we're still on earth, not in heaven. If you find that everyone around you is good, you will know you're in heaven.

First you must define what a good person is vs what a bad person is in terms of some absolute morality.

My definition of good morality is that which supports life and joy of life.

The opposite is evil. So, those who support suffering and or death are evil by the very basic definition.

If what you do say or promote has the effect of creating more suffering and death on this planet then you are doing evil.

So far I have only met one person on this planet (not me) who never does any evil and he was a monk who only praised God all day and taught people how to get free from the ignorance we all suffer from. He was loving kind and only spoke the truth. I have never found anything he said to be incorrect scientifically.

Those who support the rise in congenital diseases (permanent genetic diseases) in babies are evil. That means that most humans are evil out of ignorance. In order to not support the continual rise of fetal mutations in babies you must not spread any diseases and you must not reproduce if you have an STD or have any permanent STD's like herpes or HIV or AID's. It is guaranteed that you will give suffering to your offspring.

So, who is really good? Good intentions have often led to serious bad things. Because unless you understand the ultimate ramifications of all that you do, you have no clue what you are doing. People do a lot of things in the name of good, but are actually perpetrating some form of evil.

It is best to only do what you know to be good from scriptures because being a stupid human you cannot judge for yourself.

I want you to find a really good person, one who never does anything bad? So far I have never met any normal people who can reach that standard. We are all flawed.

There are a number of "bad" people because they have a mental disorder. Perhaps someone has been brought up incorrectly.
