Vatican II, I believe in the document on the Church and/or in the document on non-Christian religions mentioned that elements of truth could be found in all faiths - please note SOME elements, but that the only faith that contained the fullness of truth was the Catholic Church. Also, they stated that it was POSSIBLE for non-Catholics to achieve salvation, although, realistically speaking, the possibility may be there, but the difficulty involved in achieving salvation outside of the Church is so high as to make it practically impossible. Further the only people outside of the Catholic Church that would have a ghost of a chance - so to speak - are those who have never heard of the Catholic Church and do not know that they must be Catholics Christians in order to be saved. Fulfilling that last requirement in this day and age is kind of difficult. Anyway, for a complete discussion of this please pick up the book, Salvation Outside the Church? by Fr. Peter M.J.
