Answer:Because of its shape. The cube is strong but remove 2 sides and any force will knock it down. Same as a rectangle. But a circle has a perfect arch. The Romans found out that an arch will hold up more weight than any other shape. An arch is only a small portion of a circle and can withstand more weight or impact than any other shape. Water dams are shaped in an arch because the more pressure exerted upon it, the stronger it is. Its also why the forehead is arched. Its the hardest bone to break.
