He named it after the scientist because it was for revenge.

The scientist was very critical of Linnaeus' system of classifying plants.

BTW, I got this off an article we are reading in science for extra credit. The sad part is that I can't find out what the weed is and what it looks like, I am searchiong for it now but, I found this question and decided to answer it.
