The Native Americans died because of multiple factors. I'm gonna try and keep it short. The Native Americans, since they were not so massively concentrated as in the Old World cities, did not have many pandemics and plagues, so their immune system did not really have defense against the Old World viruses, so when the Spaniards came, and brought with them the "new" sicknesses, the Natives just got caught completely by surprise, and most of them died off. Native Americans died after the Spanish invasion due to a combination of factors, including diseases brought by the Europeans to which the Native Americans had no immunity, warfare, enslavement, and forced labor. The introduction of new diseases, such as smallpox, had a devastating impact on the indigenous population.

Why did the europeans in the west indies used africans rather then native Americans as slaves?

Europeans used Africans as slaves in the West Indies for several reasons, including resistance by Native Americans, higher immunity of Africans to diseases, cultural differences, and the availability of Africans through the transatlantic slave trade. Native Americans were also more likely to escape due to their knowledge of the land.

Did Native American die because of disease explain the results the Columbian exchange had on many native Americans living in north and South America?

Yes, many Native Americans died due to diseases brought by Europeans during the Columbian Exchange. This demographic catastrophe had long-lasting effects on Native American societies and cultures.

Why did america use africans for slaves instead of indians?

Africans were used as slaves in America due to a combination of factors, including a demand for labor to cultivate crops like tobacco and cotton, the belief that Africans were better suited for manual labor, and the perceived inferiority of African peoples. Additionally, Native American populations were more susceptible to diseases brought by European colonizers and often resisted enslavement, making Africans a more readily available and preferable labor source for the colonizers.

Why did European colonists choose to enslave Africans to provide labor?

European colonists chose to enslave Africans for labor because Africans were seen as physically superior, immune to European diseases, and already had experience in agriculture. They also believed that Africans were culturally inferior and therefore justified their enslavement as a way to civilize and convert them to Christianity.
