Because no on knew what was going on with the Jews. There were people that lived in Germany 5 miles from the concentration camps that had no idea it was even there. That is another reason Hitler had so many followers, everyone thought he just wanted to become a world power and that he would get them there, no one was suspicious of the concentration camps until they say him do it first hand and until the Jews were being as badly treated in the streets, and by then Hitler had so much power there was little that could be done about it.
