Because he claimed to be God. He validated his claims by performing miracles. When questioned by the religious establishment regarding such claims, they asked for another "sign." Jesus responded, "destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up again." Three days following his crucifixion he rose from the dead. The body is often called a temple in The Bible.
Even his enemies, those who crucified him testified that he had in fact risen from the dead. The Bible states that the Pharisees bribed the guards to say that the disciples stole the body (an admission that there no longer was a body present). However, if his disciples stole they body, why would they be so willing to die (all were martyred- except John) for a belief that would be based on their personal deceit. The disciples, his enemies, his half brothers, and Paul (a former persecutor of Christians) all believed they saw the resurrected Jesus.
This is why people follow Jesus.
Jesus claimed he was God, "Before Abraham was, I am" - the same way by which God revealed himself to Moses. Jesus was the second person if the trinity - full man and full God.
His disciples worshiped him as, their Lord and God (John 20:28). Any claim different to this is a lie (e.g. bottom of this page).
The Bible clearly establishes Jesus as deity - he was worshipd by his disciples and he did not rebuke them, he was called Lord and God by his disciples and he did not rebuke them, he was with the Father before the world began, etc.
AnswerProbably for the same reason they do today. Since they recognized He was God in human form, they worshiped Him. This would have been sacriligeous if He had not been God and if this was so, He would also have forbidden it.
Regarding the Lie Below this AnswerDaniel 2:46 does not say worshiped. The best translations are, "paid homage" (ESV), "paid him honor" (NIV), "did homage to Daniel" (NASB). Your point to say that Daniel was also worshiped in the same manner as Jesus is actually incorrect. The reason for the prostration for Daniel was because he was a king, anointed by God and worthy of respect. Jesus was worshiped by his disciples as, in the words of Thomas to Jesus, "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28)
There is no point in you, "giving many verses, chapters and contexts (sic)" if they are as fundamentally incorrect as your previous example.
Jesus never claimed to be an earthly King but stated to Pilate 'my kingdom is not of this world.' This, together with the context in each case determines that people recognized that Jesus was worthy of worship.
The person then goes on to claim that the word in the Daniel quote is the Hebrew meaning worship as you worship God. This is incorrect as its meaning is in line with the above translations of paying homage and honour (ESV/NIV/NASB).
Unlike the false claim below, the Hebrew word actually means:
1) to prostrate oneself, do homage
1a) (P'al) to do homage
Another answer:Bismillah (In the name of God)Not because Jesus pbuh was a God.
It was a common use (to show respect and thanks), amongst the ancient people. the people did not know better.
Acts 14:13
"Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice (for Barnabas and Paul) with the people."
Daniel 2:46 (King James Version)
"Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him."
Funny that the bible is revised by 30 Christian scholars of the highest eminants, backed by 50 co-operating dominations, and that same bible gives this verse above as the (best translation), and yet if a christian doesn't like it, he grabs another version... that is not translated by the best earn christians of this moment!!!
Look look the king James version , it says worshipped, look at the Hebrew word (original text), again it says worshipped.
Daniel 2:46 the word worshipped, that you find there, how is it written in the original text?
Hebrew text Daniel 2:46-
- cgid (seg-eed')-
meaning: worship

Jews did not accept Jesus pbuh, and even today, they are not worshipping Jesus pbuh. (there is a discussion page, for anyone that wants to discuss)
Put very simply, because they discover for themselves the Love of God, and just what he did and does for us through Jesus Christ. Once a life is committed to Jesus, only then does life really make sense and takes on a new, deeper meaning.
It is only after the spread of Christianity beyond the borders of Palestine, where time and distance would remove any opportunity to prove his story, that people gradually began to believe in Jesus. And following generations, being brought up in that belief, continued in the belief in the person and divinity of Jesus.
Because he was "the Christ, the son of the living God" (Matthew 16:16)
(John 6:66-69)" . . .many of his disciples went off to the things behind and would no longer walk with him. Therefore Jesus said to the twelve: "YOU do not want to go also, do YOU?" Simon Peter answered him: "Lord, whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life; and we have believed and come to know that you are the Holy One of God."
In the Bible, the crowds followed Jesus because of what He had to say. He told parables, that were interesting, or people could've followed Him because He was the Christ and had come to save us all.
Mainly because of his teachings and the healing of the sick.
People follow Jesus as he died for the sins of mankind. And as there are many gods in the world worshipped, but only Jesus died and arose from the dead and they love him.
because they were hungry
It is estimated that 2.1 billion people now call themselves Christian. This number, however, includes many cults who follow their own twisted religion. And many so-called followers only want the benefits of Christianity, but actually want Jesus to follow them. As in John, chapter 6, the number of people who actually follow Jesus is much smaller than what it appears to be.
because when there was time of Jesus the people who saw the jesus in his life told the story to their child and then the story was hear by so many people like saying to others so thats why we know the history of Jesus...
He wants to be remembered has a man of God, so people can follow him to Jesus Christ in the Heavens.
they didn't.
Judaism. Jesus was Jewish and so were his earthly mother and "foster" father.
People probably think its genuine as when they /you believe in something so hard it 's hard not to imagine who what when where and why and that picture has made so many people believe in Jesus people think of it real
So people can see and know more about Jesus.
i am a modern day disiple, and so in that i simply follow Jesus, like the disciples id
If you go to a Catholic Bible, you will find that in the New Testament, Jesus helped so many people. One story you would find is when Jesus resurrected his friend Lazarus. Jesus also resurrected a 12 year girl who was dead. Look at the Gospels of either Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John and you'll find so many testimonies of Jesus' help toward other people in the New Testament.
Jesus had so many folowers because he could preform mirickles.
Prophet Muhammad spread the religion of Islam so that people can follow/practice this religion. Just like why did Jesus spread the news about Christianity?
I hope so as He wishes to be friends with all who obey God and follow His Law.
