I had the same problem. Although there could be a number of solutions, this was mine. After replacing the front brakes, I noticed it was still very hot. I removed the back drums and saw my shoes were like new. There was lots of play. I cleaned and sanded the drum and pads, put it together, then adjested them perfectly. I drove about 5 times in reverse a short distance to allow them to auto adjust. It is much better now. My problem was the fronts were working 99% and the rear ony 1%. After doing this, I noticed a big difference in the stopping power. If the front brakes are doing all the work, they will heat up. Other solutions could be the calipers and guides are sticking in the front.
