In fact, black holes cannot be directly viewed. They can only be located by seeing how much radiation is coming from a certain point in space. The black holes cannot be viewed directly because they absorb the electromagnetic radiation that goes near them.

I would say that the only direct measurement of a black hole is its Hawking radiation, and that is expected to be extremely weak - undetectable with current technology, even for the nearest known regular black hole (at a distance of 3000 light-years), or the nearest known supermassive black hole (at a distance of 26,000 light-years). For a black hole with 1 solar mass, the Hawking radiation is equivalent to a temperature of 60 nanokelvin.

Why do astronomers have difficulty studying the black hole?

Black holes do not emit light, so we cannot observe them directly

Why do astronomers have a difficult time viewing black holes?

You cant see a black hole because the gravitational pull of it is so strong that not even light can escape from it. Astronomers find them through observing the space matter that they pull into them, not the hole itself.

What kind of Astronomers study black holes?

How do astronomers know the black hole exist?

Astronomers know because they have studied star patterns and placements and know when there has been a change between where there is a black hole and where there isn't one.

What is the thing astronomers have been able to proove that it exists?

Black Holes

How do astronomers search for black holes and what are the challenges of learning about them?

There are two ways of finding black holes. They can look for the effects that their gravity has on nearby objects and they can look for X-rays emitted by matter about to fall into them. A major challenge is that black holes themselves do not emit any light, making them impossible to detect directly.

Are black holes known?
