Yes they make your head itch. Go to the drugstore and purchase lice shampoo. Ask an employee for help choosing a shampoo if you need to.

The hair doesn't itch at all. It's the scalp that itches and it can itch 2 weeks after treatment. But always check everyday after treatment to ensure all the nits and the bugs are gone and dead and best to use mayo for 8 hours to ensure easy removal of nits cause of the vinegar in the mayo. The shampoo kills most lice but not all of them.

Your head will itch, and the live insects can be seen crawling next to your scalp. If you have had them for several days, the nits will also be visible at the hair roots.
