There is no atheist creed as to how the world was created. Of course, atheists know that the biblical creation account is not correct, but they are generally open to non-theistic explanations and would find the scientific explanation persuasive.
Agnostics, by definition, are uncertain whether there is a God. They may believe that if there is a God it is possible that the biblical account could be correct, but probably in most cases side with the scientific explanation.
The advancement of civilization has done wonders so far, but it also has the side-effect of creating agnostics and atheists (which eliminates the problem altogether). Increases in general societal health, economic productivity, freedom and education all correlate inversely with religious violence. However, the best way to end religious conflict would be, naturally, to abandon religion.
