Answer ( According to a Muslim ) It's because those people don't know anything about Islam .
If they really know the right facts about Islam ( not those fake ideas shown in some of the western countries media , such as terrorism ...etc ) and that it's the religion of peace and happiness, they would have joined it.

But who you going to harm? yourself? Yes. Example: If you stop driving on the freeway or road because of few bummers. You are the one who is going to suffer. So please study ISLAM before you decide not to convert.
